First Night Alexandria is BACK this year with activities in Old Town from 2PM until midnight on Sunday, December 31, 2023!
First Night Alexandria, the largest family-friendly and affordable New Year's Eve Festival of Music and More event in the region, returns as a celebration showcasing performing arts throughout Old Town in the City of Alexandria. The annual event (in its 29th year) takes place on Sunday, December 31, and will feature a variety of activities, activations, dance parties, live music and more. Museums, churches, retail stores, hotels, and public buildings are turned into performance venues to showcase a variety of talent. The festivities kick off at 2:00PM, pause at 6PM for a family -inspired Fireworks display and concludes at midnight as the community welcomes in the New Year.

VENUES
Through the collaborative support of churches, museums, retail establishments, libraries, private clubs, buildings and offices, recreation centers, city-owned facilities, theaters, and hotels, doors are opened as these locations become venues to enjoy artistic expression. All FNA Matinee and Prime Time performances are indoors. The venues are walkable and within a maximum distance - river to rail - 1 mile. Stroll through Old Town and enjoy various performances!

Park your vehicle closest to where you plan to end the evening for the best experience in managing crowds.
